In this 50-minute session, Claire pulls back the curtain on how the TV industry actually works behind the scenes. You'll come away understanding who sits where on a production, what each role genuinely does day to day, and how the whole structure holds together — knowledge that takes most people years on the job to piece together for themselves.
Together you'll walk through the production hierarchy from the bottom up — runner, coordinator, production manager, producer, series producer, Head of Production, executive producer — and, crucially, who reports to whom. Claire will explain the bigger picture too: how broadcasters and independent production companies (the indies) interlink, who holds the budget, who gives the notes, and where the real decisions get made.
As an active Head of Production, Claire is describing the org chart she lives inside every day, not a textbook version of it. You'll leave able to read a call sheet, follow a conversation without nodding along blindly, and pinpoint exactly where you fit — and where you're heading next.
